Sailing CampS

JP2 Club offers a summer sailing opportunity for junior high and high school students in early June.

Each year JP2 Club partners with certified sailing instructors from the Minneapolis Sailing School for a one day sailing clinic on Bde Maka Tsa (formally known as Lake Calhoun).

The day begins with a class on sailing basics, then students are shown how to rig the keelboats. Then they are on the water to practice basic sailing skills and then they learn how to work together as a team to navigate through a course.

The day ends with a mock regatta (sailboat race), then off the water for a rootbeer float celebration!  Registration begins in April of 2024 for the next sailing camp.
